Dr. Armstrong joined the program in summer 2008. She graduated with academic honors a Clinical Psychology Doctorate Program from the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She pursued her Pre-doctoral Internship with the Latino Mental Health Services program at the Yale School of Medicine, Psychiatry Department in New Have, CT and a Post-doctoral Primary Care Psychology Fellowship with the University of Massachusetts Family Medicine Residency Program at the Family Heath Center of Worcester in MA.
She serves as a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine and the Collaborative Family Health care Association. She also serves as a reviewer for the Spanish submission to the Families, Systems, & Health peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that publishes clinical research, training, and theoretical contributions in the areas of families and health, with particular focus on collaborative family healthcare. She enjoys traveling to the beaches of her native Puerto Rico and spending time with family and friends.
