Dr. Higgins is the newest member of the faculty, having joined the group in summer 2005. She graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa. She served as chief resident for the program while also holding leadership positions at the state and national level. Most recently, she served as resident representative to the AAFP’s Commission on Education. In addition to her teaching duties at the residency program, Dr. Higgins is completing a Faculty Development Fellowship in Waco, Texas.
Dr. Higgins is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Academy of Family Physicians and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, traveling and dancing.
