Our Facilities
The Santa Rosa Family Health Center is a 16,000 square-foot, ultramodern facility located adjacent to the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa—City Center Hospital and serves as the home to the residency program. The center features 20 exam rooms, two fully equipped procedure suites configured for office ultrasound, endoscopy, colposcopy, casting and fracture management, exercise stress testing, and minor office surgical procedures. In-house laboratory services are offered with on-site phlebotomists. Additionally, the clinic utilizes GE Healthcare’s Centricity Office Suite Electronic Health Record, operating in a totally wireless environment using Motion Computing Tablet PCs. The electronic health record is accessible to residents from the hospital and from home through the HIPPA compliant CHRISTUS secure physicians web portal.
Since the Family Health Center serves as their “landing pad,” each resident is provided ample office space with private desks, book storage areas and a desktop computer with high-speed Internet access. Each office is large and is shared by three residents who are free to make their space as comfortable as they desire.
Daily lectures and workshops are held in our state-of-the-art conference rooms located on the 5th floor of the clinic building. The conference rooms are equipped with full multimedia presentation capability as well as video teleconferencing. A full lunch is provided during the daily noon lecture each day by the CHRISTUS catering service. A daily dose of knowledge and free food—what more could you ask for?
Located in beautiful downtown San Antonio, the program is a stone’s throw from the legendary El Mercado Market Square, the famous San Antonio Riverwalk and the historic Alamo. There is plenty of outdoor green space around the hospital complex, with two downtown parks and the riverwalk trail, which allows for a nice break in the rigors of residency training.
In addition to the Family Health Center, the program utilizes the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-City Centre and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children's Hospital as the primary inpatient teaching facilities. These hospitals are adjacent to the clinic building, which provides outstanding continuity for our patients and our residents. Our residents do not have to spend time traveling to off-site or satellite locations. You can truly make the facility your home.
